Grangemouth Children’s Day

Every summer Grangemouth holds a celebratory ‘Children’s day’ involving local schools and children. Pupils vote for a ‘Queen’ for the day who is joined by flower girls, maid of honour, ladies-in-waiting and page boys for a procession through our local town of Grangemouth.

It is a colourful, fun event with a local band leading out the ‘royal’ procession and thousands of locals coming out to decorate their homes and support their children and the town.

CalaChem is the proud sponsor of this event with an annual donation to the event committee to ensure the smooth running of a much-loved local spectacle.

In 2017 CalaChem had a very special link to Grangemouth Children’s Day. The queen for the day is the daughter of one of our employees, Alan Wilson. Alan who works at our Effluent Treatment Plant lives in Grangemouth with his family and attends the children’s day every year. His daughter Kara was voted for by her peers to be the Children’s Day Queen. Alan and his family have very kindly shared some photos of Kara on the day with us.

We think Kara looks like the perfect queen.
